This is real amazing, I think you captured Lovecraft very well. I like your interpretation of the Lovecraftian monsters. Personally I think this deserves first place.

Gabriel-lvstrong responds:

Thank you my friend.
The most amazing is that each person has their own interpretation. This creates a richness in lovecraft universe.

You have a good understanding of colors and how they work together, especially the red. Although I think that you need to work more on your application of human anatomy as it is problematic in some areas, specifically speaking about that waistline.

I myself is not familiar with how anime style works, and maybe it's supposed to look that way; that I don't know. I can say that her stomach is unbelievably shiny, like damn son where'd you find this? I have yet to encounter shiny women in all 20 years of my existence in this earth, and I certainly hope to find one in the near future.

Anyway, I like the art. I also like the provocative clothing. Pretty great I'd say.

Eggabeg responds:

Thanks for the review! Yeah the waist is just insane, as are the bewbs, it's often deliberate, women get sexualised A LOT in Anime and Manga, doesn't help the Fan Base much but I would think more like it than they would care to admit. Shiny women? Just camp more in the tall grass and bring some ultra balls, you'll find one eventually!

This game is extremely beautiful and every respect and so is this artwork.

lilHeart responds:

Thank you so much! ^^ And yes, the game is beautiful indeed. :3
I hope more games similar to this one will be made in the future.

Impressive.

From the looks of the brushstrokes I can assume this is traditional work, yes? I'm also going to guess that you used some sort of paint or water colors. I'll have praise you for the neatly done shading, which is quite a feat since shading with materials such as paints and whatnot is ridiculously messy.

Good job.

Ukki responds:

Thanks :)))
Yes, this traditional art. Watercolor, pastel. And a couple of effects.

Strange Proportions I might say.

This drawing looks rather decent, but it could be better. For one thing the head is a bit "incompatible" with the whole body due to the sheer difference in size. Even for a chibi drawing, it looks horribly disproportional. It's as if the head belongs to some other guy and glued it to a child's body. Creepy.

I know he's a hobbit, but the anatomical structure of the arm really bothers me. It's almost looks as one solid mass of flesh and bone. No joints or anything, which really is really quite odd. The hand looks as equally distorted as the arm itself. You better get on that the next time you draw chibi.

I'll have to be honest and say the coloring looks very promising, but it appears to be too soft at the moment. I clear sign of uncertainty. It would be better to use more solid and vivid brush strokes to avoid making your drawings look flat such as this one. It would also be great if you were able to use a variety of shades and highlights. You know, darker and lighter colors.

Your shading looks rather boring, soul crushing even. I think that small flaw is an easy fix. Just use more expressive and "lively" colors. I mean look at that, I can barely tell the shades from the base color. So you'd better get on that.

I'll end this review by telling you to practice more, and you'll eventually get better.

Moferiah responds:

Thank you, for your review. I'll try to take that into account in future.

You are a master.

This deseves to win. :P

Rhunyc responds:

You are too kind!

It's awesomely appreciated, thank you very much. *high five*

Needs a lot more to be desired

I guess I should write a critique about this drawing. But first I'd like to point out that this is in no way realism or semi-realism, it's 100% anime. I mean look at it. Well with that made clear let's proceed with the criticism.

I think your biggest weakness here os the shading. The main reason as to why your shading seem to be quite ineffective is due to the softness and uncertainty of your strokes. I advise you to use more solid and pronounced shading in order to make a larger impact on the viewer. The shading is rather dull and boring. Adding a wider range of darker shades a lighter ones might make the it more interesting to the eye of the viewer.

I'd also suggest to use some highlights since it generally helps make the drawing look a lot more realistic. Also what's up with her eyes? Are they glowing? Well they don't look pretty useful in the picture. It's bit of deadweight around the other elements of the drawing since they are quite unnecessary.

The shading around her hair looks very messy, there is no order at all. I think it's another factor that pretty much downgrades the picture. Also the background looks very unappealing. Also her neck looks too long.

Generally this pic really needs a lot more. Better get to practicing then. 3/10

AnDrew19787 responds:

I must stress my points a bit further. This was MEANT to be semi-realism practice. It doesn't mean it IS. I've also said this was practice and that I've never done realism before.

You'd be surprised that actual animes can have longer necks than the one here. Realistic necks are about as long here though; they are just thicker in diameter.

Merol...

I love you. lol

Merol responds:

So much love!

Great use of colors

That's some pretty lovely blending right there. The mood of this drawing is just serene and wonderful. It made me smile. I really adore your unique style. The way you draw is somewhat mysterious. I don't know any words to describe it lol. The only small flaw I see is focused on the head, the eyes have a rather strange angle. Overall it's a very delightful drawing.

Luxembourg responds:

I'm not sure how to describe it, either. I don't mind that! At least people don't compare it to Burton anymore.
If I can make people smile with my artwork, then that means I'm succeeding.
There are lots of flaws besides the eyes' angle (which I don't think is that off, considering the angle of her head), but I suppose it's a good thing if I'm the only one who notices them. Thanks for the comments, Fifty, and I'm quite glad you enjoy it.

Awesome Comic.

How did get that font? I want one as well. And loving the textures there. Really gives a feel of being from the old days.

Aigis responds:

I got most of the fonts from Blambot.com
